[What did Mrs. Brisby do today, one may ask. Usually there is no answer, as she does perfectly fine keeping to herself.

Not today. She shifts a bit uncomfortably, fidgeting. It's clear enough, at least, that she is incredibly uncomfortable.]

Can... someone explain what a "pet store" is to me? Or... explain what a "pet" really is.

I don't think I've ever seen such a dreadful and uncomfortable place...

Maybe then it's just a quirk of Vatheon... I don't know. I don't know any of the animals that live in my world, just Pokemon.

It's very unsettling... I... I don't like that they're in cages, though. Cages are terrifying...

They... they hardly seemed aware of it.

But that's not right, I don't think. I've been put in a cage before... i-it's better than being eaten by a cat, but it's horrible.

I don't understand either. They aren't... like anyone I've ever known.

They way they move and think... it's more like a spider or a bug...

I don't think that's it, but I don't think those cages are good for them. There's no predators, and they're provided for, but... it's just...

I wish Johnathan were here... he'd know what to do...

No, I... it's alright.

[She starts to scurry towards the pet store, leading the way.

Once she's there... there is a slight hesitation, but she goes inside.]

[ N notices, but does not say anything, instead stepping in quietly in order to listen out for all of the animals' voices. ]

[There's probably not much "voice" to be had - their sentience is significantly more limited. Mrs. Brisby climbs up onto the counter, looking at the other mice as they run in their wheels.]

They... smell, and look, and sound like mice. But...

But I still don't like these cages. I don't understand how they can be so calm about being inside of them!
